Pre-planning

Because death is a devastating experience for loved ones and friends to cope with, a funeral is a matter which should be planned beforehand in much the same way as a will is prepared to alleviate confusion later.

In addition to having a valid will on file, it’s wise to have a written funeral plan and to file it with your funeral director. This plan should cover such things as how much money will be spent on your funeral, the type of vault and casket to be selected, what sort of service will be held, and who will officiate. It may also cover such details as the type of music to be played and songs to be read or sung, the clothes and jewelry to be worn for burial and intentions pertaining to flowers or contributions. Whatever you want to happen in connection with your funeral service and burial should be placed in a pre-planning file. You may also decide to prepay your funeral service thereby guaranteeing today’s prices and avoiding inflation in years to come. You may elect to do this in one single payment or you may choose a longer period by means of pre-planning insurance which we have available. Pre-planning will take the pressure from grief-stricken loved ones at a time when they are least prepared.
